Cooking Time | 10-15 minutes |
Total Time | 25-35 minutes |
Level of Difficulty | Easy |
Ingredients
- 3 pounds potatoes
- 200 grams gruyere cheese
- 200 grams feta cheese
- 3 tablespoons greek extra virgin olive oil
- Salt
- Cracked pepper
Step 1: Prepare and Cook the Potatoes
Start by peeling and chopping 3 pounds of potatoes into smaller pieces to ensure quicker boiling.
Place the chopped potatoes in a pot and cover them with cold water.
Bring the pot to a boil and cook the potatoes for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until they are tender when tested with a fork.
Step 2: Drain and Season the Potatoes
Once the potatoes are tender, drain them thoroughly and transfer them to a mixing bowl.
Add a pinch of salt and cracked pepper to taste.
Pour in 2 to 3 tablespoons of Greek extra virgin olive oil to add moisture and flavor.
Step 3: Add Cheese and Mash
Grate approximately 200 grams of Gruyere cheese and add it to the bowl with the potatoes.
Crumble about 200 grams of feta cheese into the mixture as well.
Use a potato masher to mash everything together until well combined and fluffy, ensuring the cheeses are evenly distributed throughout the mashed potatoes.
Step 4: Plate and Garnish
Serve the mashed potatoes on a plate by creating a mound.
Drizzle a little extra olive oil over the top for added flavor and richness.
Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh greens or salad for an appealing presentation.
Enjoy your creamy, cheesy mashed potatoes!
