Ingredients
For the dip:
- 1 cup cilantro leaves (freshly picked for best flavor)
- 2 large jalapenos (seeded and coarsely chopped)
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 3 green onions, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp lime peel
- 1 garlic clove (for a robust garlic taste)
- 1/4 tsp cumin
- 1 1/2 cups Greek yogurt (full-fat Fage for extra creaminess)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the garnish:
- extra sliced jalapenos
- roasted pepitas
- additional cilantro
- crumbled queso fresco or cotija cheese (adds a salty tang)
Step 1: Prepare and Chop Ingredients
Begin by placing jalapeños, green onions, cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, and garlic into a food processor.
Pulse the ingredients until they are finely chopped and well incorporated.
Step 2: Combine All Ingredients
After the initial ingredients are finely chopped, add the remaining ingredients to the food processor.
Pulse again until everything is combined into a uniform mixture.
Step 3: Chill the Mixture
Transfer the mixture to a bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Chilling allows the flavors to meld and develop, enhancing the taste of your dish.
Step 4: Serve and Garnish
When ready to serve, top your dish with extra cilantro, queso fresco, and jalapeños if desired.
Enjoy your freshly made and flavorful creation!
