Preparation Time | 30-45 minutes |
Cooking Time | 8-10 minutes |
Total Time | 38-55 minutes |
Level of Difficulty | Easy |
Ingredients
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup cooking oil
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
- Sugar crystals for decoration
Step 1: Prepare Wet Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine softened butter and oil with both granulated and brown sugars.
Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix until the ingredients are smooth and creamy.
Blend in the eggs one at a time, making sure to fully incorporate each egg before adding the next.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients and Dough
Gradually add flour, a pinch of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar, and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to the wet mixture.
Mix until all the dry ingredients are well incorporated and the dough is smooth.
Carefully fold in the white chocolate chips to evenly distribute them throughout the dough.
Step 3: Chill the Dough
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 1 hour to firm up.
This helps the cookies maintain their shape during baking.
Step 4: Preheat Oven and Shape the Cookies
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Remove the chilled dough from the refrigerator.
Roll the dough into large golf ball-sized balls or use an ice cream scoop to portion it out.
Place six dough balls evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
Step 5: Bake and Add Sprinkles
Bake the cookies for 4 minutes.
Remove them from the oven and quickly top each cookie with crystal sugar sprinkles for added texture and sweetness.
Return the cookies to the oven and bake for an additional 4-5 minutes, closely watching to avoid over-baking.
Step 6: Cool and Enjoy
Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes.
This helps them set and makes them easier to remove.
Once cooled, transfer them to a wire rack to finish cooling completely.
Enjoy your homemade white chocolate chip cookies!
