Preparation Time 15-20 minutes
Cooking Time 25-35 minutes
Total Time 40-55 minutes
Level of Difficulty Medium

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean minced beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon italian herbs
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 (25 oz) jar pasta sauce, split
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Step 1: Prepare the Ground Beef

Turn the Instant Pot to the saute setting.

When the display indicates HOT, add in the ground beef and begin breaking it up.

Add the chopped onion and brown for about 5 minutes.

Drain off any excess grease, then stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning to combine.

Step 2: Add Broth and Egg Noodles

Pour the broth into the Instant Pot and scrape the bottom to ensure nothing is sticking.

Turn off the Instant Pot.

Sprinkle the egg noodles evenly on top of the beef mixture.

Pour half of the pasta sauce over the noodles, distributing it evenly.

Step 3: Pressure Cook

Cover the Instant Pot and secure the lid.

Ensure the valve is set to sealing.

Set the manual/pressure cook button to 1 minute.

When the time is up, allow the pot to sit for 10 minutes before moving the valve to venting.

Carefully remove the lid once all pressure is released.

Step 4: Prepare the Cheese Mixture

Stir the contents of the pot well.

In a separate bowl, mix together cottage cheese, sour cream, and Parmesan cheese.

Spread this mixture evenly over the noodles.

Then, spread the remaining pasta sauce on top.

Step 5: Final Baking and Melting Cheese

If using an air fryer lid, place the lid on top and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and bake for an additional 3 minutes.

If you don’t have an air fryer lid, transfer the stainless steel pot to a preheated oven at 350°F and bake for 25 minutes.

Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy

Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, remove from the oven or Instant Pot.

Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Enjoy your delicious, cheesy, and comforting meal!
