Hey friends!
Craving some fresh, warm rolls but don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen? I’ve got the perfect solution for you!
Today, I’m sharing my go-to recipe for frozen yeast rolls.
They’re soft, buttery, and ridiculously easy to make ahead of time.
Just pop them in the oven when you’re ready, and boom—fresh rolls in no time!
Let’s dive into this deliciousness!

Possible Ingredient Alternatives
For the frozen yeast rolls, homemade or store-bought pizza dough can be used as a substitute. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape into rolls. This option allows for customization and may have fewer preservatives. Melted butter can be replaced with olive oil or a plant-based butter alternative for a dairy-free version. Use the same amount and brush onto the rolls before baking. Fresh herbs can be substituted with dried herbs if fresh are unavailable. Use about one-third the amount of dried herbs, as they are more concentrated in flavor. Alternatively, garlic powder or onion powder can be used for a different flavor profile. Adjust quantities to taste, starting with 1/2 teaspoon and increasing as desired.

Ingredients
For the rolls:
- 12 Rhodes frozen rolls (I find these bake up soft and fluffy)
- cooking spray
For the herb butter:
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 tbsp fresh herbs (finely chopped, like thyme or parsley)
- 1/4 tsp salt
Step 1: Prepare the Skillet and Let Rolls Rise
Begin by spraying a 12-inch skillet with nonstick spray or lightly greasing it with oil.
Place 12 Rhodes frozen dinner rolls evenly around the pan, making sure to leave equal space between each roll.
Cover the rolls with a piece of plastic wrap and spray the top of the plastic wrap with nonstick spray.
Turn the plastic wrap over so that the sprayed side faces the rolls.
Allow the rolls to rise in a warm area for 3-5 hours until they have doubled in size.
Step 2: Prepare Herb Butter and Bake the Rolls
Once the rolls are ready, preheat your oven to 350°F.
While the oven is heating, melt some butter and mix in salt and herbs of your choice.
Pour 4 tablespoons of the melted butter mixture over the tops of the risen rolls, saving the remaining butter mixture for later.
Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
Step 3: Add Final Touches and Serve
When the rolls are finished baking, remove them from the oven and gently brush or spoon over the remaining butter, herb, and salt mixture.
Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving.
Enjoy the warm, buttery rolls as an accompaniment to your meal.
