Ingredients
For the crust:
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup cottage cheese (full-fat for best results)
For the seasonings:
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning (I use McCormick Culinary)
For the toppings:
- extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded low-moisture part-skim)
- fresh basil
- 2-3 tbsp marinara sauce (your favorite brand, like Rao’s Homemade)
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
This ensures that your pizza crust will cook evenly and achieve a nice golden color.
Step 2: Prepare the Cottage Cheese Crust
Place 1 cup of cottage cheese in the center of a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Using the back of a spoon, spread the cottage cheese into a round shape, creating a pizza crust.
Step 3: Season the Crust
Sprinkle 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top of the cottage cheese crust.
Next, add 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1/2 teaspoon of Italian seasoning on top of the Parmesan to enhance the flavor.
Step 4: Bake the Crust
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the crust for 40 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
This step helps firm up the crust, making it easier to hold your toppings.
Step 5: Add Toppings and Final Bake
Once the crust is done, carefully remove it from the oven.
Add 2-3 tablespoons of marinara sauce on top, followed by 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese.
Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and melted to your liking.
