| Preparation Time | 10-15 minutes |
| Cooking Time | 5-10 minutes |
| Total Time | 15-25 minutes |
| Level of Difficulty | Easy |
Ingredients
- 2 to 3 oz smoked salmon (thinly sliced)
- 2 slices sourdough bread (toasted until golden)
- 2/3 cup cottage cheese (full-fat for creaminess)
- everything bagel seasoning (to sprinkle generously)
- hot honey (I use Mike’s Hot Honey for a nice kick)
- 1 cup arugula
- quick pickled onions (for tangy garnish)
Step 1: Toast the Bread
Begin by toasting 2 slices of sourdough bread until they are very crispy and almost burnt.
This will provide a sturdy and flavorful base for your toppings.
Step 2: Add Cottage Cheese and Seasoning
Spread ⅓ cup of cottage cheese on each slice of toasted sourdough.
Drizzle hot honey over the cottage cheese for a sweet and spicy kick.
Sprinkle everything bagel seasoning on top of the cottage cheese to add a burst of flavor.
Step 3: Layer Arugula and Smoked Salmon
Next, add a handful of arugula on each slice.
Place 2 to 3 ounces of smoked salmon on top of the arugula for a rich and savory touch.
If desired, sprinkle more everything bagel seasoning over the smoked salmon.
Step 4: Top with Pickled Onions and Serve
Finish by adding quick pickled onions on top of the smoked salmon for a tangy and crunchy element.
Serve immediately and enjoy your gourmet toast!
