Ingredients

  • 2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 2 teaspoons ground flaxseed
  • 1 cup greek or plain yogurt
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups strawberries, sliced
  • Almond butter, for topping
  • 1/2 teaspoon chia seeds per jar
  • Hemp seeds, to taste

Step 1: Gather and Prepare Ingredients

Start by gathering all your ingredients: 2 cups of old fashioned oats, 2 teaspoons of ground flaxseed, 1 cup of Greek or plain yogurt, 3 cups of milk (your choice of dairy or dairy-free), 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 2 cups of sliced strawberries, and almond butter for topping.

Step 2: Assemble Dry Ingredients in Jars

Take about 1/4 cup of old fashioned oats and place them in each of your jars (you can use 8-ounce jars or one large container).

Next, add about 1/2 teaspoon of chia seeds to each jar for extra nutrition.

Then, add about 1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon of ground flaxseed to each jar.

Optionally, you can also add a small amount of hemp seeds or other toppings of your choice.

Step 3: Add Fruits and Wet Ingredients

Now, add sliced strawberries (or your choice of fruit such as blueberries, apples, or bananas) to each jar.

Spoon 1 cup of Greek or plain yogurt into each jar.

Finally, pour milk into each jar until it reaches the rim.

Use a spoon to mix all the ingredients in each jar to ensure the oats soak up the liquid and the yogurt mixes well with the add-ins.

Step 4: Seal and Refrigerate

Seal the jars with lids to prevent spills in the refrigerator.

Place the jars in the fridge for at least 4 hours, but preferably overnight (a minimum of 8 hours) to allow the oats to soak and soften.

Step 5: Enjoy Your Overnight Oats

The next morning, enjoy your creamy overnight oats straight from the jar.

For an extra treat, top with a dollop of almond butter before serving.

Bon appétit!
