What’s better than takeout meatballs? Homemade ground pork meatballs that you can make right in your kitchen!
These ground pork meatballs are my go-to recipe when I want something that’s both filling and fun to make. They’re perfect for pasta night, great in sandwiches, or served on their own with your favorite sauce. Once you try making these at home, you might never go back to store-bought ones again.

Ingredient Substitutions
Ground pork can be substituted with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, or plant-based alternatives like Beyond Meat for a vegetarian version. Adjust cooking time slightly, as leaner meats may cook faster. For plant-based options, add a tablespoon of olive oil to maintain moisture.
Onion and garlic granules can be replaced with fresh minced onion and garlic for a more robust flavor. Use 1/4 cup minced onion and 2-3 cloves of minced garlic as substitutes. This change may increase moisture content, so consider adding a tablespoon of breadcrumbs if the mixture seems too wet.
The spice blend (paprika, thyme, coriander, and cumin) can be substituted with 2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning or Greek seasoning for a different flavor profile. This maintains the aromatic qualities while simplifying the ingredient list. Adjust salt content as needed, as some seasoning blends contain salt.

- Fat: 180-200 g
- Carbohydrates: 10-15 g
Ingredients
- 2 tsp garlic granules (I use McCormick brand)
- 2 tsp kosher salt
- 2 lb ground pork (85% lean for best flavor and juiciness)
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 2 tsp onion granules
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper (freshly ground for superior flavor)
Step 1: Prepare the Baking Equipment
Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with heatproof parchment paper or nonstick foil to prevent sticking and facilitate easy cleanup.
Step 2: Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground pork with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, thyme, coriander, and cumin.
Use your clean hands to ensure the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.
This will ensure every meatball is flavorful.
Step 3: Shape the Meatballs
With your hands slightly moistened to prevent the meat from sticking, shape the meat mixture into 32 meatballs.
Each should weigh about 1 ounce (30 grams) for uniform cooking.
This will help them cook evenly in the oven.
Step 4: Arrange and Bake the Meatballs
Arrange the shaped meatballs in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the meatballs are browned and cooked through.
Ensure their internal temperature reaches 160°F for safe consumption.
Step 5: Serve the Meatballs
Once baked, remove the meatballs from the oven.
Serve them immediately while still hot.
Enjoy your flavorful and juicy meatballs as a main dish, appetizer, or snack!
