Preparation Time | 15-20 minutes |
Cooking Time | 30-35 minutes |
Total Time | 45-55 minutes |
Level of Difficulty | Easy |
Ingredients
- 2 (17.5 oz.) cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls, icing reserved
- 2 tbsp. melted butter
- 4 eggs
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 tbsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 containers reserved icing
- 2 tbsp. cream cheese, softened
- 1 tbsp. milk
- Pecans (optional)
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare Ingredients
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Start by removing the cinnamon rolls from their packages and cutting each roll into six pieces (cut in half, then each half into three pieces).
Step 2: Assemble the Base
Drizzle melted butter evenly in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Spread the cinnamon roll pieces evenly throughout the baking dish, making sure they do not clump together.
Step 3: Prepare and Add Egg Mixture
In a separate bowl, combine 4 eggs, ⅓ cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon.
Whisk until everything is well combined.
Pour this egg mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces in the baking dish.
Optionally, you can add pecans on top for extra flavor.
Step 4: Bake the Casserole
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes.
The casserole is done when the top is golden brown and the center is set.
While it bakes, you can prepare the icing.
Step 5: Prepare the Icing
In a bowl, combine ½ cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons softened cream cheese, and 1 tablespoon milk.
Whisk until smooth.
Then, add the two tubs of reserved icing from the cinnamon rolls to the mixture and whisk until it is fully combined and smooth.
Step 6: Finish and Serve
Once the casserole is done baking, remove it from the oven and drizzle your prepared icing over the top.
You can use as much or as little icing as you prefer.
Serve your Cinnamon Roll French Toast Casserole warm and enjoy!
