Ingredient Substitutions
Ground beef can be replaced with ground turkey or plant-based alternatives like crumbled tempeh or textured vegetable protein (TVP) for a leaner or vegetarian option. Adjust cooking times slightly, as these alternatives may cook faster than beef. For potatoes, sweet potatoes or cauliflower florets can be used as lower-carb substitutes, offering different nutritional profiles and flavors. Reduce cooking time for cauliflower to prevent overcooking. Eggs can be substituted with silken tofu or a commercial egg replacer for those following a vegan diet. Blend silken tofu until smooth and use about 1/4 cup to replace each egg. These substitutions maintain the dish’s heartiness while accommodating various dietary preferences and restrictions.

Ingredients
- 450 g ground beef
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Paprika
- 3 potatoes
- 5 eggs
- Cheese
- Spring onion
- Olive oil
Step 1: Prepare Ingredients and Start Cooking
Begin by gathering all the necessary ingredients: 450 g ground beef, 1 onion, 3 cloves of garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, 3 potatoes, 5 eggs, cheese, spring onion, and olive oil.
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add the ground beef to the pan and fry for about 3 minutes until it begins to brown.
Step 2: Add Aromatics and Seasonings
Chop the onion and finely chop the 3 cloves of garlic.
Add these to the pan with the ground beef.
Season the mixture with paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Continue to fry everything together for approximately 7 minutes, or until the onions become soft and translucent.
Step 3: Prepare and Cook the Potatoes
Peel and dice the 3 potatoes into small, even pieces.
Transfer the diced potatoes to the pan with the other ingredients.
Continue to fry, stirring occasionally, for about 12-15 minutes until the potatoes are cooked through and golden.
Step 4: Prepare the Egg Mixture
In a separate bowl, crack the 5 eggs and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Whisk the eggs until well combined and set aside while the potatoes finish cooking.
Step 5: Combine and Cook the Main Dish
Once the potatoes are cooked, return the ground beef mixture to the pan with the potatoes, stirring to combine everything evenly.
Pour the whisked egg mixture over the beef and potatoes in the pan.
Cover the pan with a lid and cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the eggs to set.
Step 6: Finish and Serve
Chop the spring onion and sprinkle it over the cooked dish.
Add cheese on top for extra flavor and creaminess.
Cover the pan with the lid again and let it cook for an additional 30 seconds, just enough to melt the cheese.
Remove from heat and serve hot.
Enjoy your hearty and savory meal!
