Level of Difficulty | Medium |
Ingredients
- 1 gallon apple cider
- 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons ginger
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground clove
- 2 cans pumpkin
- 1 1/2 quarts high proof moonshine
- Whipped cream vodka
Step 1: Gather and Combine Ingredients
Start by gathering all the ingredients: 1 gallon of apple cider, 2.5 cups of brown sugar, 3 teaspoons of cinnamon, 2 teaspoons of ginger, 1 teaspoon of nutmeg, 0.5 teaspoon of ground clove, 2 cans of pumpkin, whipped cream vodka (optional), and at least 1.5 quarts of high proof moonshine (150 proof recommended).
Step 2: Cook the Mixture
In a large pot, combine the apple cider, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, ground clove, and pumpkin.
Stir the mixture well to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Step 3: Cool the Mixture
Once the mixture has reached a boil, remove the pot from the heat.
Allow the mixture to cool down completely.
This cooling process is crucial as it prevents the alcohol from evaporating when added.
Step 4: Add Alcohol
After the mixture has cooled, add the desired amount of moonshine and whipped cream vodka to the pot.
The amount of alcohol can be adjusted according to your taste preference or strength desired.
Step 5: Combine and Jar
Stir the mixture thoroughly to ensure the alcohol is well combined with the rest of the ingredients.
Once mixed, pour the pumpkin pie moonshine into jars for storage.
Make sure the jars are sealed properly.
Step 6: Store and Serve
Refrigerate the jars.
Your pumpkin pie moonshine can last about 120 days in the refrigerator, but it’s likely to be enjoyed long before then.
Serve the moonshine chilled or over ice cream for a delightful treat.
