Preparation Time 15-20 minutes
Cooking Time 20-30 minutes
Total Time 35-50 minutes
Level of Difficulty Easy

Ingredients

  • 5 pounds yukon gold potatoes (peeled and chopped)
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese (4 oz)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

Step 1: Boil and Drain the Potatoes

In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add your potatoes.

Cook them until they are very tender, which should take about 20-30 minutes depending on the size of the potato pieces.

Once tender, drain the water and return the potful of potatoes to the stove over low heat.

Step 2: Mash and Mix

Using a potato masher, mash the potatoes until smooth.

Add the butter to the mashed potatoes and blend it in until smooth and fully incorporated.

Step 3: Add Seasonings and Dairy

Stir in the half and half, cheese, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper.

Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

If the mashed potatoes are too thick, you can add more half and half to reach your desired consistency.

Step 4: Final Adjustments and Serve

Adjust the seasonings to taste.

Once everything is well blended and seasoned, serve the mashed potatoes hot.

Enjoy your creamy and flavorful mashed potatoes!
