Level of Difficulty | Easy |
Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- About 2 pkgs (approx. 12 sheets) honey graham crackers
Step 1: Prepare the Oven and Baking Sheet
Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
While the oven is heating up, lay honey graham crackers tightly across the area of a lightly greased rimmed baking sheet.
If necessary, trim any crackers to fit the sides of the pan.
Once arranged, set the prepared baking sheet aside.
Step 2: Make the Caramel-Pecan Mixture
In a large saucepan, combine 2 sticks of butter, 1 cup of white sugar, and 1¼ cups of pecan halves.
Heat this mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly to ensure the ingredients melt and combine smoothly.
Bring the mixture to a boil and continue stirring for 3 minutes to achieve a caramel-like consistency.
Step 3: Pour and Spread the Mixture
Once the caramel-pecan mixture is ready, carefully and evenly pour it over the entire surface of the graham crackers on the baking sheet.
Use a spatula or spoon to spread the pecans around evenly, ensuring that all crackers are coated with the mixture.
Step 4: Bake the Bark
Immediately place the baking sheet into the preheated oven.
Bake the graham cracker bark for 8 minutes, which will help set the caramel and pecan coating.
Keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn’t overcook.
Step 5: Cool and Store
After baking, remove the sheet from the oven and let the graham cracker bark cool completely in the pan.
Once fully cooled, break the bark into desired pieces.
Store these broken pieces in an airtight container to maintain their freshness and crunch.
