| Preparation Time | 10-15 minutes |
| Cooking Time | 15-25 minutes |
| Total Time | 25-40 minutes |
| Level of Difficulty | Easy |
Ingredients
- 1 cup croutons (for a crunchy topping, garlic and herb flavor is best)
- 1 can French onion soup
- 4 slices Swiss cheese (thickly sliced for good melt coverage)
- 2 tbsp olive oil (I use California Olive Ranch extra virgin)
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz each, tenderized)
Step 1: Sear the Chicken
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a small amount of olive oil.
Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts to the skillet.
Cook each side for 3-4 minutes until both sides are nicely browned.
Step 2: Simmer with French Onion Soup
After browning the chicken, pour in the French onion soup.
Allow the chicken to continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes on each side.
After flipping the chicken, add croutons to the mixture.
Cook the chicken until it is white all the way through and fully cooked.
Step 3: Melt the Swiss Cheese
Once the chicken is fully cooked, place a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each chicken breast.
Turn off the heat and let the residual heat melt the Swiss cheese over the chicken.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy
Serve the chicken with a side of rice or vegetables.
Enjoy your delicious and savory dish!
