Preparation Time 15-30 minutes
Cooking Time 30-35 minutes
Total Time 45-65 minutes
Level of Difficulty Easy

Ingredients

  • 2 rolls refrigerated cinnamon rolls (12.4 ounces each)
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • Icing from cinnamon rolls (optional)
  • Vanilla or maple flavoring (optional)

Step 1: Prepare the Pan and Ingredients

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Spray a 9×13 inch pan with cooking spray and set it aside.

Open two rolls of refrigerated cinnamon rolls (12.4 ounces each) and chop them into quartered pieces.

Place the quartered cinnamon roll pieces into the prepared pan, separating them slightly to ensure even baking.

Step 2: Make the Egg Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine ¾ cup of heavy cream (or milk), 4 large eggs, and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.

Whisk these ingredients together until they are well mixed.

Optionally, you can add a touch of vanilla or maple flavoring for extra flavor.

Step 3: Combine and Bake

Pour the milk and egg mixture over the cinnamon rolls in the pan, making sure to scrape every last bit into the pan.

Use a spatula to spread the mixture evenly over the cinnamon rolls, or tilt the pan to ensure the mixture is distributed evenly.

Drizzle about ¼ cup of maple syrup over the top of the casserole.

Bake the casserole for 30 to 35 minutes, or until it is bubbly and golden brown on top.

Step 4: Prepare the Icing

While the casserole is baking, microwave the icing containers from the cinnamon rolls for about 10 seconds to soften them.

This will make it easier to drizzle the icing over the baked casserole.

Step 5: Finish and Serve

Once the casserole is done baking and is golden brown on top, remove it from the oven.

Drizzle the softened icing over the top of the casserole.

For an extra touch of sweetness, you can also drizzle additional maple syrup over the casserole before serving.

Enjoy your delicious, warm cinnamon roll casserole!

Step 6: Overnight Preparation (Optional)

If you prefer to prepare the casserole the night before, cover the pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate it.

In the morning, remove it from the fridge 30 to 60 minutes before baking to allow it to come to room temperature.

Then bake as directed for a perfect breakfast treat.
