Ingredients
- salt to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh dill (finely chopped)
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed for best flavor)
- 3 tbsp milk (whole milk for a richer dip)
- 1 small garlic clove (finely minced)
- ground black pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups cottage cheese (I prefer Daisy brand for its smooth texture)
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
Step 1: Prepare the Garlic
Start by placing a small garlic clove into a mini food processor or small blender.
Process the garlic until it is finely chopped.
Step 2: Add Remaining Ingredients
To the processed garlic, add 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, 1 ½ cups of plain cottage cheese, ½ teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh dill, 2 tablespoons of chopped scallions, and 3 tablespoons of milk.
Season the mixture with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Step 3: Blend Until Smooth
Process all the added ingredients until they form a smooth and creamy mixture.
This may take a minute or two to ensure everything is well combined.
Step 4: Final Adjustments
Taste the dip and adjust the seasoning by adding more salt and pepper if needed.
If you prefer a thinner texture, blend in a little more milk until you reach the desired consistency.
Step 5: Serve and Store
Serve the dip immediately with your choice of vegetables, crackers, or chips.
Any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Stir the dip before serving again if necessary.
