Preparation Time | 15-20 minutes |
Cooking Time | 40-50 minutes |
Total Time | 55-70 minutes |
Level of Difficulty | Easy |
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground beef (85% lean)
- 1 cup corn kernels
- 2/3 cup condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, separated
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
- 32 ounces tater tots
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to get it ready for baking the casserole.
Step 2: Cook the Beef Mixture
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it is no longer pink.
Once fully cooked, stir in the corn, condensed cream of mushroom soup, ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese, milk, sour cream, onion powder, black pepper, and crumbled cooked bacon.
Mix everything together well to combine the flavors.
Step 3: Layer the Casserole
Take a 9×13 inch baking dish and layer the beef mixture evenly across the bottom.
Place the tater tots on top of the beef mixture, spreading them out evenly.
Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the tater tots to cover them completely.
Step 4: Bake the Casserole
Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until it becomes bubbly and golden brown.
If you prefer extra melted cheese, bake for an additional 5 minutes to ensure the cheese on top is fully melted and slightly crispy.
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
Once the casserole is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Enjoy this hearty and delicious meal with your family or friends!
