Ingredients
- Pumpkin pie
- Chocolate
- Pecans (optional)
- White chocolate chips (optional)
- Fall nonpareils (optional)
Step 1: Prepare the Pumpkin Pie Mixture
Begin by transferring your leftover pumpkin pie to a large bowl.
Use a hand mixer or a spatula to mash the pie, breaking it into smaller chunks until it’s a relatively smooth mixture.
Divide the mashed pie into three separate bowls if you wish to create variations with different mix-ins.
Step 2: Add Mix-Ins to the Mixture
Add your desired mix-ins to each bowl.
Some great options could include pecans, white chocolate chips, or any other complementary ingredients you enjoy.
Stir well to ensure that the mix-ins are evenly distributed throughout the pumpkin pie mixture.
Step 3: Form the Truffles
Use a cookie scoop to create one-inch balls from the mixture.
Place each formed ball onto a tray lined with parchment paper.
Once all of the balls are formed, place the tray in the freezer for about 15 minutes to allow them to harden.
Step 4: Perfect the Shape
After the truffles have hardened, take them out of the freezer.
Roll each ball between your hands to round them into perfect spheres.
This step ensures that the truffles have a uniform and smooth appearance.
Step 5: Coat with Chocolate
Melt some chocolate using your preferred method (microwave or double boiler).
Once melted, carefully drizzle or pour the chocolate over each truffle, covering them completely.
If desired, add toppings such as crushed nuts or sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.
Allow the chocolate to harden completely.
Step 6: Serve and Enjoy
Once the chocolate has set, remove the truffles from the tray and place them on a serving dish.
Your delicious pumpkin pie truffles are now ready to enjoy!
Serve them as a delightful treat for yourself or share with friends and family.
