Are you in the mood for something sweet and festive? I’ve got the perfect treat for you!
Today, I’m excited to share my recipe for pumpkin pie twists.
These little delights are flaky, filled with pumpkin goodness, and oh-so-delicious!
They’re a fun twist on the classic pumpkin pie, and you’ll want to make them all season long.
So, let’s dive into this yummy recipe together!
Preparation Time | 15-20 minutes |
Cooking Time | 8-11 minutes |
Total Time | 23-31 minutes |
Level of Difficulty | Easy |
Ingredients
- 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice blend
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Whipped cream for dipping (optional)
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
Step 2: Prepare the Pumpkin Filling
In a small bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, maple syrup, and pumpkin spice.
Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
Step 3: Prepare the Dough
Unroll the crescent dough on a cutting board.
Cut the dough in half to create two identical rectangles.
Lay the rectangles beside each other on the cutting board.
Step 4: Assemble the Pumpkin Twists
Evenly spread the pumpkin mixture over one of the rectangles of dough.
Place the second rectangle of dough on top of the first rectangle with the pumpkin mixture in between.
Make sure to line up all the edges for an even sandwich.
Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into strips approximately 3/4 inch wide.
Step 5: Twist and Season
Carefully transfer the strips to the parchment-lined baking sheet.
Twist each strip by picking up one end and twisting it twice, then picking up the other end and twisting it another 2 or 3 times.
Brush melted butter generously over each twist.
Mix together the sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over each twist.
Step 6: Bake and Serve
Bake in the preheated oven at 375°F for 8-11 minutes, or until the twists are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
Enjoy your delicious pumpkin twists!
Seemed to be way too much filling. I was only able to successfully transfer 3 strips to the baking sheet. The others fell apart. Baking now; will see how they turn out. Was hoping to make these to take to a Thanksgiving go. Glad I tried a batch ahead of time.
