Preparation Time 10-15 minutes
Cooking Time 0-5 minutes
Total Time 10-20 minutes
Level of Difficulty Easy

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup raw sugar, for optional glass rim
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon, for optional glass rim
  • 3 ounces ready-made eggnog
  • 2 ounces cinnamon whiskey liqueur
  • 3/4 ounce amaretto liqueur, plus extra for optional glass rim
  • Cinnamon stick, for decoration
  • Freshly grated nutmeg, for topping

Step 1: Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Rim (Optional)

If you’d like to add a cinnamon sugar rim to your glass, start by mixing 1/4 cup of raw sugar and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon in a small dish until the mixture is uniform in color.

In another small dish, pour a small amount of amaretto liqueur.

Dip the rim of an old-fashioned glass into the amaretto, allowing it to evenly wet the rim, then roll the wet rim into the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat it thoroughly.

Set the prepared glass aside.

Step 2: Mix the Cocktail

In a cocktail shaker, combine 3 ounces of prepared eggnog, 2 ounces of cinnamon-flavored whiskey liqueur, and 3/4 ounce of amaretto liqueur.

Fill the shaker with ice to ensure the mixture is well chilled.

Step 3: Shake and Strain

Secure the lid on the shaker and shake the mixture vigorously for about 30 seconds to ensure it’s well mixed and properly chilled.

Once done, strain the cocktail into the prepared glass.

Step 4: Garnish and Serve

To finish off your festive cocktail, garnish it with a cinnamon stick and a dusting of freshly grated nutmeg.

This adds an aromatic touch and a little extra flair to your presentation.

Serve immediately and enjoy your delightful holiday drink!
