Grab your apron because these little bites of heaven are calling your name! Let’s dive in!
Ingredient Substitutions
For a dairy-free alternative, cream cheese can be replaced with cashew cream cheese or coconut cream. Use the same amount and ensure it’s at room temperature for easy mixing. Oreos can be substituted with other sandwich cookies like Newman-O’s for a less processed option, or gluten-free sandwich cookies for those avoiding gluten. Use the same quantity as the original recipe. Chocolate candy melts can be swapped with high-quality dark chocolate chips or bars for a richer flavor and fewer additives. Melt the chocolate slowly and carefully to avoid burning. If using chocolate bars, chop them finely before melting. For all substitutions, maintain the same measurements as the original ingredients to preserve the truffle’s texture and consistency.

Ingredients
- 6 oz cream cheese
- 36 oreos
- 10 oz chocolate candy melts
- 5 oz white candy melts for decorating
Step 1: Prepare the Oreo Mixture
Begin by placing 36 Oreos (including the filling) into a food processor.
Pulse on high speed until they are crushed into a fine crumb.
Add 6 oz of softened cream cheese to the crushed Oreos in the food processor and mix until everything is well combined.
You may need to scrape down the sides to incorporate all the mixture evenly.
Once combined, transfer the Oreo mixture to a separate bowl for easier handling.
Step 2: Form the Truffle Balls
Using a medium-sized cookie scoop or a cake pop former, scoop portions of the Oreo mixture and roll them into balls using the palms of your hands.
Place the rolled truffles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Once all the balls are formed, freeze them for about 15 minutes to firm up.
Step 3: Melt the Candy Coating
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 10 oz of candy melts by microwaving in 15 to 20-second intervals until they are fully melted and smooth.
Stir between intervals to ensure even melting.
This melted candy will be used for coating the truffles.
Step 4: Coat the Oreo Truffles
To coat each truffle, place a small amount of melted chocolate on a butter knife, position an Oreo truffle on top, and spoon the melted chocolate over it.
Use another clean butter knife to carefully transfer the coated truffle onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper.
In case any truffles fall into the chocolate, retrieve them with a spoon.
While the chocolate coating is still wet, you can sprinkle any desired toppings, like crushed Oreos or peppermint candy, over the truffles.
Step 5: Decorate with White Candy Melts
Melt 5 oz of white candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl by heating in short intervals until smooth.
Transfer the melted white candy melts into a disposable pastry bag placed in a cup.
Twist the top of the bag and snip off a small portion of the tip.
Drizzle the melted white candy over the coated Oreo truffles quickly to create a decorative effect.
Step 6: Set and Finish
Allow the decorated truffles to set for at least 20 minutes before serving.
If any excess chocolate has pooled at the bottom of the set truffles, gently break it off with your fingers for a neat presentation.
Serve these delightful Oreo truffles as a tasty treat or dessert.
